The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoPPS) does not have a requirement for quarter or semester credit hour completion since credit hours vary among institutions.  UB SoPPS does not articulate courses or evaluate transcripts.  To find equivalent courses, please refer to UB’s online articulation service, called TAURUS at http://taurus.buffalo.edu/ , or refer to the course descriptions on UB’s undergraduate catalog at http://undergrad-catalog.buffalo.edu/ when planning your schedule.

Other required credentials Criminal background check

All accepted applicants and enrolled students in the PharmD program (P1 through P4) must submit and complete a Criminal Background Check (CBC) from a vendor approved by UB SoPPS at the student's expense. Students who refuse to submit to the CBC may be dismissed from the program. An accepted applicant must initiate the CBC review within 15 days of receiving the "Admissions Acceptance Confirmation," which will be e-mailed once payment and acceptance forms are received. A minimum of three (3) letters of reference must be completed on the Letters of Reference form included in your PharmCAS application and submitted to PharmCAS. UB will not accept any letter submitted directly to the Admissions Office.  Each letter must include (1) a standardized cover sheet with the reference’s name and position and (2) a character rating sheet, which are provided by PharmCAS to your evaluators.  Please make sure your evaluators submit each form in addition to their comments.  Incomplete letters will not be considered.  All references will be contacted for verification by the UB SoPPS Admissions Staff.

A TRADITION OF RESEARCH AND DISCOVERY

Since 1886, the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoPPS) has been a national leader in education and research in both Pharmacy Practice and the Pharmaceutical Sciences. The only pharmacy school in the State University of New York (SUNY) system, UB is consistently ranked among the U.S.’s best and boasts the nation’s second most productive research program in terms of National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding per faculty member.

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences’ home is on UB’s North Campus in Amherst, NY, a northern suburb of Buffalo, New York State’s second largest city.
