A sequence of botany and zoology is acceptable if general biology I and II cannot be taken at a college or university. Biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, and statistics, while not required as pre-pharmacy courses, may be taken to strengthen the applicant's educational background in these areas. These undergraduate courses are not substituted for similar professional level coursework for the PharmD degree.
