prior to matriculation. Applicants must successfully complete ALL course

General physics with or without calculus is acceptable. A sequence of botany and zoology is acceptable if general biology I and II cannot be taken at a college or university. Biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, and statistics, while not required as pre-pharmacy courses, may be taken to strengthen the applicant's educational background in these areas. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The College of Pharmacy is one of the finest colleges of pharmacy in
the United States having been ranked consistently among the top ten programs
for many years.
The College has the faculty expertise and technological capability to
offer a high quality educational program for pharmacy students in Gainesville,
Jacksonville, Orlando, and St. Petersburg. Once individuals are admitted
to the College of Pharmacy, they are assigned to a campus site with preference
for their first choice. Students are asked to rank order the campus sites
of their choice.
A state of the art new pharmacy building and an extensive renovation to
the present building into an excellent research facility has enhanced
the quality of the facilities in Gainesville for pharmacy education. The
educational facilities in Jacksonville, Orlando, and St. Petersburg are
also high quality institutions with state of the art computers, laboratories,
and classrooms.
Joint degree programs with the Doctor of Pharmacy degree are available.
These include: B.S.in Food Science and Human Nutrition, Master of Business
Administration, Master of Public Health, Juris Doctorate, and the Doctor
of Philosophy degrees. Numerous scholarship, award, and loan programs
are available.
The College has an excellent endowment program for financial need based
aid. State supported Florida Bright Futures Scholarships continue for
Florida resident recipients through the first two professional years in
the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program. High quality advanced pharmacy
practice sites located throughout the state of Florida provide a basis
for an excellent experiential program. Graduates complete all experiential
requirements for licensure as a pharmacist in Florida through the Doctor
of Pharmacy curriculum.
A variety of student organizations are available in the College of Pharmacy
and the University to complement the student's growth toward full participation
in society as a professional and as a citizen. |
