PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Midwestern University College of Pharmacy-Glendale offers an accelerated three-year professional curriculum leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. This provides a rigorous and challenging opportunity for students to gain the knowledge and skills to function as highly effective pharmacists.  In addition to a strong science foundation, which is delivered in the classroom setting, students are provided with practice experiences in a variety of pharmacy settings during all three years of study.  This process allows students to apply scientific principles and theory to the optimal medication management of patients.

Learning is emphasized as an active and interactive process.  Each student is challenged to become an active participant and partner with the faculty to achieve their educational goals.

Excellence in teaching is the standard and not the exception at the College. The faculty have a relentless commitment to the highest quality of teaching.  They role model expert pharmacy and pharmaceutical knowledge and skills; and exhibit professionalism, compassion, caring, honesty, integrity, and respect for others.  As a result, when our students graduate, they will have developed enduring professional relationships with the College and University faculty, administration, and staff.

The University campus provides a supportive interdisciplinary learning environment that provides innumerable opportunities for pharmacy students to collaborate with other health professional students and faculty in the classroom, in extracurricular events, in community service activities, and on research or other special projects.  We believe that such experiences are key to developing successful and effective health care teams of tomorrow.

We invite you to consider joining our College family.
