PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Reflecting the values of Touro College, the Touro College of Pharmacy will contribute to the building of a better society for all through improved health status of individuals and the community. Our program prepares students to be competent, caring, and ethical professionals dedicated to providing care to patients and to supporting the health care team.
The College of Pharmacy requires a baccalaureate degree for admission to the program. Our professional program, four years in total, is uniquely composed of two years of classroom experiences and two years of practice experiences. Throughout the four years, cutting edge technology is integrated into the learning process, giving the students varied academic experiences. As a result, the student benefits from a holistic approach to teaching.
The graduate of the College of Pharmacy will be a practitioner well-versed in the foundations of pharmacy, with communications and critical thinking skills conducive to practicing and succeeding in a variety of settings. The curriculum and experiential training will address the need for graduates to provide patient care in culturally diverse environments, minimize health disparities, and play an active role in promoting the nation's public health. Our innovative curriculum and diverse pharmacy practice experience opportunities prepare Touro College of Pharmacy graduates to play a central role in the health care system and in their communities.
We, the Touro College of Pharmacy community, continuosly evaluate both discipline- and content-specific outcome standards to refine our curriculum. Because we believe the educational process cannot be a success without student involvement in his/her own learning experiences, the Touro College of Pharmacy community comprises the administration, faculty, and the students.
