Currently, PharmCAS operation and customer support teams continue to provide uninterrupted services to both schools and applicants. Below are updates on the admissions processes at colleges and schools of pharmacy.


If you are invited to participate in an interview, it will likely be moved to a virtual format via webcam or phone. The technology used will vary based on the institution and the ability of an applicant to access it. If your webcam will be enabled for the interview, you are encouraged to dress professionally as you would for an in-person event. If you cannot participate in the virtual interview, please remember to notify the admissions office in advance. Learn more do's and don'ts for before, during, and after your virtual interview here. Pharmacy Admission Policies

View the COVID-19 Pharmacy School Admission Policies report and COVID-19 Pharmacy Admissions Summary report to understand how pharmacy admission policies have been modified to date in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The summary report includes the following data points:

  • Online Interviews
  • Online Course Prerequisites
  • Pass/Fail Course Prerequisites
  • Course Prerequisite Waivers and Substitutions
  • Health Documentation Requirements for Matriculated Students
  • Criminal Background Checks and Drug Testing

Pharmacy admission policies may change over time and not all programs are reflected in these reports. Students and advisors are strongly encouraged to reach out to colleges and schools of pharmacy directly with any questions. Visit the PharmCAS School Directory for contact information.


Unofficial Transcripts

PharmCAS will not accept unofficial (student-issued) transcripts from applicants in the 2020-2021 cycle.



PCAT registration is now open to students for the testing dates in September 2020 and January 2021. Pearson strongly suggests that you register and schedule as soon as possible to get your preferred testing date, time, and location. Visit the PCAT website at for the latest information.

PharmCAS will match any July 2020 PCAT scores received to applications in the 2020-2021 cycles. All PharmCAS applicants should continue to send their official PCAT scores to School Code 104. Review the Pharmacy School Directory to view school-specific PCAT requirements.


World Education Services (WES)

WES is continuing to process foreign transcript evaluation reports for international (non-U.S./foreign) study and provide customer support during regular business hours. However, applicants with pending WES reports may experience delays in part due to slowdowns from international universities that are affected by the virus and, as a result, are shut down and not issuing documentation. Please contact WES to check the status of your report, if needed.


PharmCAS Background Check via Certiphi Screening

If you are accepted to a college or school of pharmacy, you may be required to complete a criminal background check via Certiphi Screening. Currently, background checks via Certiphi have not been interrupted. However, some sources and partner locations have closed. If your case is affected, Certiphi Screening will have the ability to reopen the search report at a later date to deliver a completed search result to your college or school of pharmacy.


PharmCAS Drug Screening via Certiphi Screening

If you are accepted to a college or school of pharmacy, you may be required to complete a drug screening via Certiphi Screening. If you are scheduled for a site appointment at a location that has closed, the Certiphi support team will attempt to reschedule you at another nearby facility.
