Program Description

A Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Creighton University prepares you to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care grounded in Jesuit values. Our innovative Distance Pathway, the first of its kind in the U.S., allows students to complete their PharmD from any location while receiving the same high-quality education as our campus-based pathway.

Distance students complete didactic coursework online through interactive modules and recorded lectures, engage with faculty and peers virtually and travel to Omaha for two-week intensive lab sessions each summer. Clinical education is completed at one of over 1,000 established practice sites across the U.S. and internationally. Students choose from more than 30 elective opportunities, including unique experiences in Medication Therapy Management, rural health and underserved care.

Creighton PharmD graduates consistently achieve strong licensure pass rates and career placement outcomes. Alumni are employed in a wide range of pharmacy settings—from major health systems and retail chains to federal agencies, the military, academia and industry. Many pursue advanced training in residencies or fellowships nationwide.

Creighton’s programs are designed to meet licensure requirements in all 50 states, preparing you to practice wherever your career takes you.

Please reach out to the Office of Admission at cuspahp@creighton.edu to discussion specific pass/fail course grades.
The biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry courses must be a two-semester, eight-hour or equivalent course sequences. A course sequence is considered to be a correlated pair of courses offering in-depth coverage of a specific field and must be at a level such that the courses would be acceptable as prerequisites to advance towards a baccalaureate degree in that discipline. For chemistry and biology courses, survey courses, courses without associated laboratories, and courses designed for non-science majors are not acceptable as prerequisite science courses.

A 3 semester hour/4.5 quarter hour course in calculus, physics or quantitative chemistry can be used to fill that specific prerequisite. Pre-calculus, survey of calculus and brief calculus will not fulfill this requirement.
