All applicants must send a foreign transcript evaluation report (FTER) and original transcripts through PharmCAS for verification at their own expense. NEOMED prefers that candidates utilize World Education Services (WES) for this service. In the event that international coursework is considered by NEOMED, matriculating students will need to have original official transcripts and a FTER from WES delivered to NEOMED upon matriculation at their expense. This practice applies to applicants that have attended institutions of higher education outside of the United States. '

Selected candidates are invited to interview on a rolling basis starting in approximately September. Candidates are contacted via email only using the address on file in PharmCAS. Each applicant receives two interviews in a conversational yet structured format.

Currently as of the date of publication, NEOMED is conducting only asynchronous virtual interviews due to COVID. Candidates should stay current for evolving opportunities should in-person interviews become available.

  program_description: |
Located near Cleveland and Akron just minutes from Kent State University, Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) is setting the standard for pharmacy education.

Our curriculum prepares graduates to practice at the top of their licenses in a team approach to patient care in a variety of community and clinical settings. NEOMED is the only college of pharmacy in northeastern Ohio. NEOMED's NAPLEX First-Time Pass Rates are annually ranked among the best in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). Since 2016, NEOMED pharmacy graduates have exceeded the NAPLEX national average first-time pass rates every year ― two years of which they ranked in the top 10 nationally (fourth in 2016, and sixth in 2018). NEOMED graduates also have the highest four-year average NAPLEX 1st Time pass rate (95.3%) in Ohio. In a recent American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education value analysis comparing tuition costs to outcomes, NEOMED’s quality/value index was higher than the average of the top 10 U.S. pharmacy programs as ranked by U.S. News and World Report in its annual issue on colleges and universities.

97% of NEOMED’s 2019 pharmacy alumni are currently practicing as a pharmacist or working in a pharmacy-related field after graduation. The majority of the graduates are practicing in community or health-system pharmacies. Of the graduates, 30% are currently completing post-graduate training residency programs.

Beginning with the P1 year, experiential curriculum components are taught throughout a variety of clinical partners sites, which include teaching hospitals, community hospitals and health care systems, ambulatory care clinics, and private and corporate pharmacies. If your professional calling is to provide excellent patient care serving as a leader as part of a 21st Century health care team, then NEOMED is the place for you! For full details on the program, we recommend that you take just two minutes to create a personal profile at Discover.NEOMED.edu.
