  program_description: |
The Doctor of Pharmacy program at the Jefferson College of Pharmacy (JCP) is designed to prepare the student pharmacist for professional practice as a pharmacist. In addition to the depth of information learned from courses in the curriculum, students enhance their understanding of this knowledge through direct application and extra-curricular activities.

Direct application of knowledge occurs in case-based learning, experiential opportunities, and through interprofessional education opportunities.

JCP has designed the curricular experience to build with each class, to develop critical thinking skills, and to assess comprehension. JCP is proud of our graduates NAPLEX pass rates for first time test takers, as multiple classes have had a 100% pass rate.

JCP students gain direct hands on experience in pharmacies every semester; the first beginning early in the first semester. Each semesters learning experience is set in a different practice setting allowing Jefferson students maximum exposure to future practice options.

Thomas Jefferson University has an outstanding commitment to interprofessional education. The University sponsors a national Interprofessional Education conference every two years on our campus where other educators come to learn new ideas related to interprofessional education. We are very proud of our students who get involved in extra-curricular activities in this area often culminating in presentations at this national meeting.

At the conclusion of the educational journey, our students are ready to seamlessly enter the profession. We are proud that for those seeking post-graduate training they have matched at rates higher than the national average. You are invited to come, learn and contribute to the Jefferson experience.
