Program Description
-------------------
Program Description:
As one of America's top-ranked PharmD programs, the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy provides a pharmacy education unsurpassed in breadth and depth. We offer more than 500 experiences around the U.S. and overseas, including a vast selection of centers, clinics, and other medical units affiliated with the University of Michigan Health System, one of the nation's best. We have a diverse class, with admitted students from across the U.S., Canada, and other countries of the world.

To maximize individualized learning, class sizes are limited to roughly 85 students per year. Students are part of a close-knit community with ready access to the outstanding resources of a world-renowned university and top-ranked multi-health system. The small class size also creates more quality opportunities to sharpen clinical, leadership, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and other high-demand career skills. Pharmacy professors include basic and clinical scientists recognized around the world for expertise in their fields. Our 4:1 student-to-faculty ratio means that students are able to build strong relationships with faculty.

Clinical experiences begin the first year and are structured over four years to build high-level competencies via on-location training, coursework, and laboratory assignments. Students partner with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, nutritionists, and other heath care professionals to provide a well-rounded, interprofessional learning environment. The fourth year consists of rotations at a diversity of sites with the purpose of helping students to choose the career path that best suits their talents and aspirations. Each year, the college awards more than $1 million in scholarships. Contact us at 734-764-7312 or mich.pharm.admissions@umich.edu to learn how you can pursue your PharmD education at the top-tier University of Michigan Michigan PharmD program.
