Program Description:
The School of Pharmacy curriculum is designed as a professional, four-year Doctor of Pharmacy program that encompasses didactic, laboratory, and experiential learning. Our rigorous curriculum will prepare students to become competent, caring, and contemporary pharmacy practitioners by engaging students with highly qualified faculty who are accessible and available to meet with students who require additional personal assistance. Our interactive-learning environment emphasizes expanded clinical experiences, including interprofessional experiences with other health science programs, the extensive use of technology, and outreach activities with other students. Applicants must provide evidence of successful completion of the required pre-pharmacy coursework from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States. Completion of prerequisite coursework with cumulative and math/science grade point averages of 2.50 or higher is preferred. Coursework from international institutions must be assessed by a credential evaluation service. The applicant must be in good academic standing at each college or university attended. All prerequisite coursework must be completed with a grade of "C" (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better and must be completed by Spring 2021. Additionally, any math and science coursework taken over 10 years ago will not be considered.

Briefly describe your institution's interview process::
The purpose of the interview is to determine the applicant's potential for success in the Doctor of Pharmacy program and the candidate's oral communication skills. Candidates will also be required to write an extemporaneous essay on an assigned topic to assess their writing skills. During the day of the interview, a brief curricular overview will be presented and a tour of the School will be provided.

Applicants will be required to make a $500.00 payment for a seat deposit. The seat deposit will be credited to your program costs. The University will retain a maximum of $175.00 of this deposit should you cancel your enrollment within seven calendar days (excluding holidays) of enrollment or by the seventh calendar day of the first term, whichever is later. The seat deposit is fully refundable if you are not admitted as a result of your background check. Deposits may be paid by credit card on line, money order or cashier's check made out to West Coast University. PERSONAL CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
