In order to be eligible for admission, you must satisfactorily complete a minimum total of 88 quarter units (equivalent to 59 semester units) of academic course work at another college. Our prerequisites are a part of this required minimum number of units.

You may be in the process of completing the prerequisites when you submit the application, but all prerequisites must be satisfactorily completed by July 1 of the year of entry into the program.

The PCAT is not required, rather it's optional. For example, this could apply to students at or near the minimum 2.80 GPA requirement or students who completed science prereq coursework more than seven years ago. Questions? UCSF requires at least 3 letters of reference. If a 4th letter is submitted, we will accept a fourth letter. Although not a requirement, we would like to receive a letter from an individual who could speak about your academic abilities.



International Applicants

US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, US Temporary Residents, Canadian Citizens, Foreign (non-US) Citizens with a Visa, Foreign (non-US) Citizens, Other Non-Citizens (e.g. DACA Students)
Send a foreign transcript evaluation report (FTER) to PharmCAS AND Send an original foreign transcript directly to the school
Important specific information for foreign students is available online: Students with non-US coursework must submit a World Educational Services (WES) evaluation along with original transcripts from the non-US institution. WES evaluations should be submitted to PharmCAS; non-US transcripts should be sent directly to our office. We will only accept evaluations completed by WES. We will not accept other evaluation services.
