Program Description
The University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy offers a four-year program of study leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree as the only entry-level professional degree in pharmacy. Students are admitted to the professional program following a preprofessional program of not less than two years in length with a total of at least 72 semester credit hours. Our Doctor of Pharmacy program is nationally accredited with a 100% job placement rate. Our graduates' first-time pass rate on the NAPLEX is consistently over 95%, and our post-graduate residency placement rate is consistently well above the national average. Classes of 52 students assure each student maximum individual attention within our PharmD program.
In addition to the PharmD degree, we offer an online Master of Science degree in Health Services Administration for current pharmacy students, new and mid-career pharmacists and other healthcare professionals who want to become department directors, patient safety coordinators and/or directors, regulatory compliance officers, clinical research associates, health outcomes researchers or advance practice pharmacists. Students interested in pursuing an MBA in addition to their Doctor of Pharmacy can complete our dual PharmD/MBA which is a five year program.

All science and math courses must be completed by the end of the spring semester prior to enrollment. Students can request a waiver to this policy if they need to complete no more than 2 prerequisites courses during the summer prior to enrollment.
All science courses must have labs. General Microbiology or Pathogenic Microbiology can be substituted for Medical Microbiology. Students who are taking a fusion course of Human Anatomy and Physiology must take two semesters with labs to be equivalent. General Biology II will substitute for Animal Biology. It is strongly recommended that students complete a composition course and a literature course. The University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy requires students to complete the University of Wyoming University Studies program 2015 prior to graduating from the professional pharmacy program. Work on the University Studies program should begin in the preprofessional years. For more information about the University Studies program please review the following website: http://www.uwyo.edu/unst . The University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy generally does not accept online coursework for classes that require labs. Students are encouraged to check with the UWYO School of Pharmacy Admissions Coordinator for more information on online coursework.
