    The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, College of Pharmacy's (UAMS COP) is to improve the health of culturally diverse populations by educating pharmacy leaders to address community health needs, advancing scientific discovery to produce innovations in health care, and fostering progressive pharmacy practice through service to the profession. The UAMS COP was established at the beginning of the 1951-52 academic year in Little Rock, Arkansas the UAMS campus. 
    
    The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences includes the Colleges of Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and a graduate school.     The UAMS College of Pharmacy also provides border state tuition rates for admitted applicants who reside in any of the six bordering states (MO, MS, LA, OK, TN, TX) to Arkansas. Border state tuition is 1.25X resident tuition rates.
    
    Applicants who legally reside in Bowie or Cass counties in Texas may also qualify for a border county waiver which would grant them resident tuition rates through the entirety of their program.
    
    Tuition waivers are also available for academically qualified applicants and underrepresented minority students (African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native-American, Pacific Islander). These waivers grant resident tuition rates throughout the entirety of a students' PharmD program.
