Submit PharmCAS application, TSU Supplemental Application (SA), and $100 SA fee no later than January 4, 2027;

Both overall prepharmacy GPA & Math/Science GPA must be a minimum of 2.5;

We offer a Biomedical Science 3+4 Accelerated PrePharmacy degree. Students complete 3 years of undergrad (including the prerequisites for the PharmD Program) and 4 years of pharmacy school. Upon successful completion of their first year of Pharmacy School, they apply for graduation to receive their Bachelor's Degree. The Accelerated 3+4 Concentration must be declared prior to the start of the student's junior year.

Texas Southern University's Joan M Lafleur College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences offers a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program committed to developing practice-ready pharmacists, leaders, and advocates for improving health outcomes in diverse communities. We calculate two GPAs for admission consideration: an Overall Prerequisite GPA and a Math and Science GPA. All attempts of prerequisite coursework are included in both GPA calculations, and applicants must earn a minimum 2.5 GPA in each category. Grades of D- through C- are accepted for prerequisite coursework; however, because admission to the PharmD program is competitive, applicants with multiple grades below a C may be subject to additional review by the Admissions Committee. Meeting the minimum GPA requirements does not guarantee an interview or admission to the program.

We accept Pass/Fail courses to fulfill the prerequisite requirements, however, a letter grade of C is assigned for Pass grades to calculate the GPA. Note that this will impact the GPA calculations.
We only require 4hrs of Human Anatomy & Physiology (lecture and lab). We highly recommend students take the 4hrs Human Anatomy & Physiology (lecture and lab) that encompasses but Human Anatomy & Physiology (lecture and lab) I and II such as BIOL 2404. If Human Anatomy & Physiology is not offered as a combined course, it is highly recommended but not required that students take both Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II (lecture and lab). We do not accept Physiology alone nor Vertebrae Anatomy.

Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences does not give admissions preference based on state residency. All applicants are reviewed under the same criteria.

Residency is used for tuition classification only. For tuition purposes, applicants are classified as Texas residents or non-residents based on Texas domicile, not citizenship. U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and naturalized citizens establish Texas residency in the same manner, by demonstrating domicile in Texas, generally defined as 12 months of physical presence with intent to remain. Residing in the United States alone does not establish Texas residency.

Applicants seeking classification as Texas residents must provide documentation to verify Texas domicile. Applicants who completed prior education outside of Texas may also be required to submit documentation.

Applicants selected for an interview participate in a holistic admissions process designed to assess academic readiness, communication skills, professionalism, ethical reasoning, motivation for pursuing pharmacy, and alignment with the College's mission. Interviews are conducted virtually through Kira Talent and include a live panel interview with faculty, staff, alumni, and/or pharmacy practitioners. Interview evaluations are completed using a standardized rubric to ensure consistency and fairness in the admissions process. The Admissions Committee considers interview performance alongside academic achievement, leadership, service, healthcare exposure, and other experiences when making admission decisions.
