Students have the opportunity to pursue both an MBA and/or an MPH degree while enrolled in the Pharm.D program. MBA courses can be started the summer prior to the beginning of the P1 year and the MPH can be started during the P2 year. MPH students will be able to complete both the Pharm.D/MPH degrees in 4 years at a reduced tuition cost for the MPH.

Program Description

Wingate University School of Pharmacy is known for its practice-ready graduates, with 1,896 hours of practice experience in hospital, community and clinic-based settings throughout the curriculum to allow students to apply what they have learned in classes beginning in their very first year of the program. One program – two campuses. One in Wingate NC, and one in Hendersonville NC. The program is capped at 90 students – 70 on the Wingate Campus and 20 on the Hendersonville Campus. Scholarships are available to the most competitive candidates for admission. Wingate University School of Pharmacy is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

The Wingate campus is located 30 miles southeast of the metropolitan area of Charlotte, NC. This campus offers all of the amenities of the undergraduate campus including a state of the art fitness complex.

The Hendersonville campus is nestled in among the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains, in a delightful, small city that is a popular travel destination. Just 30 minutes outside of Asheville, NC boasts a vibrant downtown with more than 100 shops, galleries and dining options. Beyond the city limits, the natural world offers world-class hiking and biking trails and serene mountain vistas. Beyond the charms of Mother Nature, Hendersonville offers Wingate University graduate students the opportunity to hone their skills in a state-of-the-art Health Sciences Center. Small classes lends itself to personalized attention.

Briefly describe your institution's interview process:

Academically qualified applicants are invited to an on-site interview. Online interview options are considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants will choose their preferred interview campus. The visit lasts about four hours, during which applicants may meet individually with current students, faculty members, and staff. Applicants are usually notified within one week after interviewing whether or not they have been selected for admission. Interview location will not impact acceptance rate and, if accepted, applicants will be able to choose after the interview which campus is preferred for attending. Accepted students will have the opportunity to meet with the other campus, in person or virtually, before making a final seat decision.
