Program Description
Wingate University School of Pharmacy is known for its graduates. They are the most practice-ready pharmacists anywhere. With over 2100 hours of practice experience, our program exceeds the requirement by 360 hours. Our practice experiences are in hospital, community, and clinic-based settings. Here, the real learning takes place. The experiences are placed throughout the curriculum to allow students to apply what they have learned in classes immediately, beginning in their very first year of the program. Wingate pharmacy graduates have exceeded the first time NAPLEX national pass rate 10 out of 12 years. All pharmacy classes and labs are taught by faculty possessing terminal doctoral degrees. No courses, discussions, case studies, or laboratories are taught by graduate students or teaching assistants. One program –two campuses. One in Wingate NC, and one in Hendersonville NC. The program is capped at 100 students – 80 on the Wingate Campus and 20 on the Hendersonville Campus. Scholarships are available to the most competitive candidates for admission. Wingate University School of Pharmacy is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

Online coursework is accepted for general education requirements. Science classes completed online are only acceptable due to the modified instruction period cause by the COVID-19 pandemic. All science lectures and labs outside of the pandemic should be completed in the traditional classroom and lab setting.

Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI)
Prospective students who are identified as academically qualified will be invited to the School of Pharmacy for an on-site interview. The interview day is an opportunity for you to learn about WUSOP, as well as an opportunity for us to learn more about you and your interest in becoming a pharmacist. You will hear from the Dean, current students, and faculty throughout the day. Multiple opportunities to ask questions to students, faculty and the Dean are available. The interview day generally runs from 1pm to 4pm.
